JA Alumni Europe Conference 2018 Review

In the world of JA Alumni, at the end of the summer season means one thing... the JA Alumni Europe Conference! If you don't know what we’re talking about, imagine more than two hundred young talented people enjoying each other’s company, getting inspired by world-class speakers and sharing their unique ideas. Sounds perfect, right? Then you better keep reading as there’s much more to like!

The conference team managed to serve us the main topic in so many different forms that it was confirmed that you need to be creative in every industry

The theme of this year’s conference was CREATE. This gave us the opportunity to be very creative and show our unique way of thinking during each workshop. However, it also gave us the chance to build on our existing knowledge and keep creating our own dreams. The conference team managed to serve us the main topic in so many different forms that it was confirmed that you need to be creative in every industry – whether its high-tech, arts or education.

There were many different things to do over the four days so you definitely could not be bored. The agenda was filled with dozens of workshops and speeches which were lead by inspiring individuals from the world of JA. For example Asheesh Advani, President and CEO of JA Worldwide, Ricardo Martins Costa, chairman of JA Alumni Honoris, Tobias Dörpinghaus, one of the founders of German JA Alumni network, and many more! You can find out about all the speakers here.

we got the chance to think creatively and use our foreknowledge during these sessions to help create a better world

What many of the participants appreciated was also the balanced content. We warmed up our brains by getting to know more about e-Residency, government-issued digital ID cards and visiting developed Estonian start-ups. But, on the other hand, we got the chance to think creatively and use our foreknowledge during these sessions to help create a better world. We were all having a productive time up until the early afternoon where we then had the best time networking in the hotel spa or at the Estonian Open Air Museum.

You can find all the photos from the JAAC18 on the JA Alumni Europe Facebook page.
